I started the creation of this "book" with the idea of Something inside people. At first, I didn't even know what this Something was. It felt like an endangered species of animal that has been forgotten by society but is nevertheless so incredibly alive. It wakes up sometimes when no one's looking. In those moments, we take off our masks, throw away our roles, positions, and statuses, and for a moment, we find ourselves completely naked and uninhibited in the world. We inhale and exhale, and we realize that we feel (each other).
In my work, I have been capturing these moments and trying to understand what I am actually researching. I came to the conclusion that this Something, this endangered animal, is maybe an inner child, maybe just a human, and a joy of life. This Something is not endangered at all; you just have to look a little and feel a little. The world is still beautiful, and sometimes it even makes a little bit of sense (or it doesn't have to) because people are laughing, their hearts are full, and beautiful things are just happening.
So a little book made of linen was created, which could be seen as something like a diary of a creature who looks at the world with childlike eyes and finds beauty in simple things. I called this book "Pretty Things," and it can serve as a reminder to everyone that the world is still full of them.
